Installation Note 45225: Installation with a sub-capacity license fails if hyper-threading has been enabled
If you enable hyper-threading on a Linux server,
a SAS® installation detects
twice the number of actual CPUs.
A SAS installation that uses a sub-capacity license file will
fail because the installation detects
that the number of allowed CPUs has been exceeded.
The following message is generated:
ERROR: The SAS System is executing on a processor (CPU) whose model name,
model number, and serial number are not included in the setinit data
used to initialize the SAS System library in use. This is permitted
if this processor is a designated backup processor for a licensed CPU.

Operating System and Release Information
SAS System | N/A | Linux for x64 | 9.2 TS2M3 | 9.4 TS1M0 |
*
For software releases that are not yet generally available, the Fixed
Release is the software release in which the problem is planned to be
fixed.
A sub-capacity license queries to determine how many CPUs
are available. Enabling hyper-threading causes an incorrect number of CPUs to be returned, and the installation will fail.
